Looking for a joy-filled life?

Yeah, same. It’s a daily pursuit. But it’s a biblical one, too.

The podcast is a weekly conversation between Brooke and TJ about emotions, rhythm, marriage, parenting, and faith. It’s a place where we laugh and sometimes cry as we try to find language and actions to live a joy-filled life.

If you’re here for that kind of life and the journey it takes to find it, then you’re in the right place.

Apparently this is our best stuff

These are our most downloaded, most butt-clenching, pull-over-till-you-get-it-together episodes.

Because who doesn’t love a good laugh-until-you-cry?

EPISODE 298

SABBATH CHANGES EVERYTHING

If you love a good binge and want to have the FULL lowdown on all of the deeply ingrained inside jokes, we recommend starting from the beginning and listening daily — ya know, if “obsessive” is your jam like it is ours.

THE CENTRAL PODCAST QUESTION

“What does that look like?”

As founders and creators of walk in love, it’s always been our goal to have put words to the way you want to walk in this world right in front of you.

And while it’s a nice first step to have your values right in front of your face (ya know, but make it fun to look at), we know that knowing how you want to live is different than understanding how to walk it out.

So, on the podcast, we’re really diving deeper into the question that always comes up after we share one of our God-led phrases.

Walk in love… Okay, what does that look like?

Choose joy… Ooookay, what does THAT look like?

You are so deeply loved… Okay, what does that look like?

In other words, if I believe these things to be true, how can it make my daily life DIFFERENT as I live them out?

So, we make it our mission to tackle the “what does that look like” thread when it comes to… pretty much everything we value in our lives.

And we’re almost certain it’s what you value, too.

What does walking in love look like for…

your marriage?

your friendships?

your family?

Heck, even for how you do laundry or whether or not your kids play sports on the weekends?

What does walking in love look like for us?

In our current life (and on the podcast), it’s things like:

  • Living in a 7 day rhythm

  • Living a slow(er-ish) life

  • Multi-generational family focus

  • Practicing Sabbath

  • Wearing the words we want to walk in

… basically, we talk through each of these topics on the podcast in a way that allows us not to take the important things lightly, but we don’t hold them too tightly, either.

Oops, buried the lead.

“WHO THE HECK ARE YA?”

Hi!

We’re Brooke + T.J.

HERE’S THE SHORT VERSION:

TJ started selling t-shirts to go on a mission trip in 2008, which led him to asking Brooke to take photos for his website, which led to MAWWIAGE… twueee wovvveee… just a year later.

We pretty much built walk in love as we know it together from that point. Now it’s a mind-bogglingly blessed business that provides so much for our family, and it all started with T.J. believing Christian t-shirts didn’t have to look so cheesy.

We’re Mom and Dad to 3 girls who’ve ushered in increasingly beautiful seasons into our lives with the BOTH/AND they bring.

June, Sunny, and Daisy have fueled our mission of family-focused living and have pretty much forced us (in the cutest way possible) to refine what our rhythms look like as we aim to craft a life that allows them to be God-loving, really awesome 50-year-olds one day.

We currently live our joy-filled life in Maui, Hawaii. Which is SHOCKING considering we both grew up in Pennsylvania. But that’s another story for another day.

OH WAIT, it’s on the podcast, here.

We are so thankful for all of you who listen and for those of you who will become a part of our podcast weirdly-close-knit club in the future.

Thanks for making us a part of your life and your week.

#BUTTCLENCHERS4LIFE, HEY-OHHH

Super awkward name? Sure.

Really cool place to belong?

Double sure.

You know that moment, right?

Someone says something convicting, or maybe dives HEAD FIRST into a topic you’ve been actively avoiding. You feel yourself go, “WOAH” as your jaw tightens and your butt involuntarily assumes a clenched position.

According to our listeners, (that’s right, for the record, this name was not our idea!) the podcast holds so many of those moments:

  • Powerful, but convicting

  • Facing topics to make life better

  • Awkward, but funny and truthful

The only way to a more joy-filled life is THROUGH all of it.

Those moments are so often that our listeners decided to brand their identity as “The Buttclenchers”. And it officially stunk. I mean STUCK, it stuck!

We’d love to welcome you to The Buttclenchers.

Wanna join the gang?

“WOW… WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW.”

Did you know we’re at the top of the podcast charts in Slovenia?

I mean, it’s funny, but it’s actually true.

Even though we’d like that to be one of our claims to fame, our biggest billboard for why you should listen to the podcast is what our actual listeners have to say about it. We’ll pass the mic to them.

“If your Monday doesn’t start with this podcast, it should. Tissues close by are suggested. OkayIloveyoubye.”

“I waited this long to write a review because I wanted it to be extra witty, but the truth is plain and simple. This podcast has added so much value to my life and I’m a better person because of it.

The podcast is my go-to when I want some deeper insights into what it means to live a life filled with healthy relationships, closeness to God, joy, and kindness. It’s an added bonus that they make you feel like you’re a part of their gang. (#buttclenchers4life, hey-oh!)”

“Wowza, you two are a gift. I’m inspired, motivated, and challenged every day by your conversations, lifestyle, and attitudes. Ten stars!”

Don’t forget to tag us on Instagram if you share about the podcast! We pick a Graciously-Sharing Buttclencher each week to gift a t-shirt to as a “thank you” for shouting our weekly chat out into your corner of influence.

And remember, we’re charting in Slovenia, so chances you’ll win a t-shirt are pretty good. 😂
